Paul Douglas, a well-known Minnesota meteorologist, will talk about climate change from a Christian perspective at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Douglas, co-author of the book "Creation Care," has more than 30 years of experience in television and radio. As a Christian and scientist, he believes it is our personal responsibility to protect God's creation for current and future generations.

He will discuss what is happening with climate change and how he believes it will affect us. By connecting the dots between science and faith, Douglas will offer solutions for Christians to take the lead in addressing climate change.

The event is hosted by the Lutheran Church of the Cross Creation Care Team and the EcoFaith Network of the Northeastern Minnesota Synod ELCA. Area ELCA Lutheran churches are co-hosts, including including Lord of Life Lutheran in Baxter; Bethlehem Lutheran, Trinity Lutheran and First Lutheran in Brainerd; Our Savior's Lutheran in Pequot Lakes; Crosslake Lutheran; and First Lutheran in Aitkin.

Those who attend will have an opportunity to submit questions after the presentation and share refreshments.
