Don Van Vorst resigned from the Chickamaw Beach City Council at the July 20 regular meeting.

Van Vorst had been on the council for 18 years. The council gave him a plaque of appreciation, according to an email summary by LeAnn Sand.

Richard Behary was appointed to the vacant council seat.
