Crow Wing County workers focus on snow removal
Crow Wing County maintenance crews will plow and remove snow from county roads throughout the week.
Crews will remove snow Monday, March 11, from county highways 28 and 30 in Crosby and Ironton. Snow will also be removed Tuesday from County Highway 20/Riverside Drive, and County Highway 5/Beaver Dam Road, in Brainerd, and County Road 125 in the First Assessment District Township. Crews will remove snow as well Friday from County Highway 14 in Bay Lake Township, and county highways 66 and 3 in Crosslake.
Crews will also be addressing snow banks along various guardrails and at various intersections to improve roadway sight distance throughout the week.
Crews will work behind the curb but may work on one travel lane and shoulder simultaneously, creating the need to close one or more lanes of traffic. Signing, flaggers or portable traffic lights will control the traffic flow through these work areas.
Crews will patch potholes on various county roads Tuesday and Friday. They will pull over and stop frequently on the shoulders of the roads to perform the work. Loose patching material debris may be present.
Maintenance Supervisor Jory Danielson said he anticipates having the snowplows out Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday because of the forecast.
