It's time to dig out Thor, Big Bertha, Ole, Sven, Lena and Baby Olga for the Pequot Lakes Bean Hole Days celebration Tuesday and Wednesday, July 8-9, in Trailside Park.
Thousands of people will gather July 8 to share a free lunch of baked beans, a dinner roll and a glass of Culligan water.
The event will begin with the Paddle Hunt; the first clue will be released at 9 a.m. Monday, July 7.
On Tuesday night, July 8, the baked beans will be buried in the ground. And on Wednesday, July 9, the celebration will culminate with the raising of the beans, a Queen and King Bean coronation, an arts and crafts fair, food market, children's games and lunch.
Commemorative T-shirts and bowls will be sold July 7-9 as supplies last at the Pequot Lakes Welcome Center in Trailside Park.

Following is the schedule of events:
Tuesday, July 8
6 p.m.: Burying of the beans ceremony.
The beans, prepared from Paul Bunyan's secret recipe behind locked doors, are buried in five huge, cast iron kettles and cooked over a wood fire during the night. The largest kettle, Thor, is on display by the Pequot Lakes Chamber building.
Wednesday, July 9
9 a.m.-4 p.m.: Craft fair and concessions along the Paul Bunyan Trail.
11:15 a.m.: Queen and King Bean coronation ceremony.
11:30 a.m.: Raising of the beans.

Noon: Serving of the beans. Volunteers will serve a free bowl of baked beans, dinner roll and beverage to thousands of attendees.
