On a Sunday afternoon, late in the summer of 1978, a gruesome discovery was made in the Red River north of Fargo-Moorhead. A young man canoeing on the river came across two plastic garbage bags.
Inside each bag was half of a human body. It had been severed in two.
The body was identified as 21-year-old William Wolf Jr., known by his friends as Billy. He attended high school in West Fargo.
To this day, Billy Wolf’s murder has remained unsolved -- no convictions have taken place.
In the debut episode of Dakota Spotlight's Season 4, host James Wolner digs into the unsolved murder of Billy Wolf, and whether the case can be solved.
