Lily, Isabella and Alison Minoletti wave as their personal van driver stops to drop off their daily goods, trailed by several cars loaded with teachers they haven't seen in months. Travis Grimler / Echo Journal
Pine River-Backus teachers who have been missing their students' faces since spring break piled into their cars and followed the school van drivers on their daily routes dropping off lunches and supplies one day last week.
Van drivers left the school at approximately 10:30 a.m. on eight different routes, with three to four vehicles belonging to teachers and staff following behind. Many of the vehicles were decorated with balloons, signs and window paint with their occupants waving at giddy students.
Isabella Minoletti waves enthusiastically as the staff parade drives past her house. She and her mother Alison and sister Lily were able to wave at almost every van in the parade. Travis Grimler / Echo Journal
