The St. Francis Catholic School Foundation dinner was held Oct. 3 at Arrowwood Lodge in Baxter with over 135 in attendance. The event raised nearly $54,000.
Keynote speaker was Sister Paul Mary Dreger, Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. She is in her fifth year at Queen of Peace Catholic School in Cloquet. Liz Scofield, a St. Francis alumnus and current parent of students at the school, also spoke about her school experiences. Entertainment included a performance by the St. Francis School Trash Can Band and social hour music by Kristin Ringhand, an alumnus of the school.
The annual event is chaired by Cassie Spitzley along with a group of committee volunteers. The St. Francis School Foundation has played a key role in the school expansion project, tuition assistance and technology advancements. The foundation's objective is to insure the school has financial stability for the future.
