Speech: Five Patriots head to section tournament

The Pequot Lakes Patriot speech team saw five students place at the subsection tournament Saturday, April 10. Those students now advance to the Section 6A Speech Tournament.

Placing at the tournament for Pequot Lakes were:

• Discussion: Mollie Pierson, first; Bryce Fabian, second; Jim Johanneck, third.

• Extemporaneous speaking: Megan Buffington, first.

• Informative: Sonja Palmer, fourth.

Sections will take place Saturday, April 17, and will be done virtually. The top three in each category will advance to the state tournament.
