Turf management workshop offers tips to save money, time
Property managers, private maintenance companies, schools and parks departments are invited to attend a workshop on how to better manage turf grass to reduce costs, save time and keep lakes and rivers healthy.
The workshop will be 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Baxter City Hall, 13190 Memorywood Drive.
The workshop is co-presented by Fortin Consulting Inc., turfgrass experts and maintenance professionals. Certification offered for MPCA Level I Turfgrass Maintenance for attendees. Certified individuals will be listed on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's website.
Training topics include: Equipment calibration, selection and application of fertilizers, mowing techniques, pesticide application tips, environmental effects, best practices for turfgrass management, and legal issues and additional resources.
The workshop cost is $15 per person and includes a copy of "Turfgrass Maintenance with Reduced Environmental Impacts" manual, refreshments and lunch.
