'Winter Birding' presentation set in NY Mills
NEW YORK MILLS—A free bird presentation titled "Winter Birding" will be 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Cultural Center in New York Mills.
The presenter will be Christine Herwig, the non-game wildlife specialist for the northwest region of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The bird presentation will address feeding and providing water for the birds, information about winter migration and irruptions and the strategies used by birds to survive the extreme conditions of a Minnesota winter.
The event is being sponsored by the Little Big Year, a group of birders who meet several times a year and count bird sightings throughout the year. Annual membership is $10 and children ages 16 and under are free. Those interested in birds is welcome to join by contacting Alice Martin at 218-385-3245.
