Run for God 5K exercises faith, body

WOW Church of the Nazarene in Backus held its first Run for God 5K race Saturday, June 10.

The Run for God 5K Challenge is a 12-week Bible study that parallels faith and endurance all while guiding new runners to their first 5K. The 5K challenge is designed for all levels of runners - from those who consider themselves a runner, to those who "once" considered themselves a runner, to those who "never thought they would" consider themselves a runner.

Run for God is known for taking "I can't" comments and turning them into "I did."

The Run for God class met weekly for running instruction and motivational discussion March 12-June 4. Following the 12-week Bible study, the graduation race day was held.

Next year, leaders from several local churches plan to create a shared timeline for the 12-week Bible study and will pick a date to unite for graduation race day. Any church interested in joining the event may contact Gloria Mink at 218-821-0204.
