Eagle View Elementary School students picked their gourd of choice during the annual pumpkin sale Thursday, Oct. 4, in the school's nature center.

For the first time, fourth-graders ran the sale rather than adult volunteers. They instructed younger students how to safely hold heavy pumpkins, handled the cash box at the checkout table and restocked pumpkins between waves of classes.

Proceeds from the sale help with upkeep of the nature center. The pumpkin sale was held Thursday and Friday, Oct. 4-5.
