Pine River-Backus Boy Scout Troop 73 of Central Minnesota Council, Boy Scouts of America, in partnership with Wells Fargo Bank, will go door to door in Pine River and Backus on Saturday, April 9, to collect shoes to help the poor.

Last week, Scouts delivered door hangers with information on "Soles4Souls" with instructions on how people could donate shoes by allowing Scouts to pick them up at their homes Saturday, April 9.

Gently used and new shoes (any type) can also be dropped off Saturday, April 9, at a station in the parking lot of the Pine River American Legion.

Shoes the Scouts collect will be delivered to "Soles4Souls," an international anti-poverty organization that monetizes used shoes to create sustainable jobs and fund direct relief efforts, including the distribution of refurbished shoes.
