Police Blotter - July 31

Several reports from area police and sheriff's departments of downed trees and power lines following the severe thunderstorm Monday, July 21.

Breezy Point police

INFORMATION: Report on July 25 at Breezy Point Resort that guests saw an individual in the woods outside the unit watching them.

Crosslake police

ARRESTS: Report on July 26 at 12:35 p.m. of a traffic arrest on County Road 3 and Pelican Lane. Subject was arrested for DWI.

Report on July 27 at 2:30 a.m. of an arrest. Subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer at a local bar.

GAS: Report on July 26 at 10 p.m. of a strong odor of gas on Anchor Point Road. Xcel Energy responded and located a broken gas line at an unoccupied residence. No injuries or damage reported.

Crow Wing County sheriff

ARRESTS: Report on July 22 at 6:36 p.m. of an arrest on Little Pine River Road in Emily. Subject was arrested for fifth degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Report on July 23 at 1:33 p.m. of a warrant arrest on State Highway 371 in Backus. The Minnesota State Patrol arrested the subject on a Crow Wing County warrant for theft.

CRASH: Report on July 25 at 1:03 a.m. of a property damage crash on State Highway 6 in Emily.

FIRES: Report on July 22 at 12:03 a.m. of a fire on County Road 18 in Pequot Lakes. A transformer blew and started trees on fire.

Report on July 22 at 1:07 p.m. of a tree on fire on West Fox Lake Road in Fifty Lakes. The tree was leaning on a power line.

INJURY: Report on July 23 at 2:09 p.m. of an injury on Old Whiskey Road in Pequot Lakes. A waterskiier reportedly cut their finger.

THEFT: Report on July 26 at 10:22 p.m. of a theft on Forest Knolls Road in Pequot Lakes.

WATER: Report on July 22 at 7:29 p.m. of an overturned pontoon on Pelican Lake due to the storm. Owner will retrieve the boat.

Cass County sheriff

CRASHES: Report on July 19 at 10:48 p.m. of a crash involving a squad car in Pine River. Subject backed into the squad and was then given a ticket for driving after cancellation.

Report on July 20 at 9:44 a.m. of a personal injury crash on 44th Street Southwest in Pine River. The driver was bleeding from the arm.

THEFTS: Report on July 19 at 9:20 a.m. of a theft on 44th Street Northwest in Hackensack. A boat motor, pressure washer, fish house and a game camera were reported stolen.

Report on July 19 at 10:19 a.m. of a theft on Lost Lake Road in Lake Shore. A wakeboard was reported stolen.

Report on July 21 at 4:58 p.m. of a theft on County 11 Northwest in Backus. Jewelry was reported stolen.

Report on July 21 at 9:54 p.m. of a theft on State Highway 371 Northwest in Pine River.

Report on July 22 at 2:23 p.m. of a theft in Pine River. Subject reported a bag possibly stolen at the library.

Report on July 23 at 12:48 p.m. of a theft on Pine Beach Peninsula Road in East Gull Lake. Subject reported $1,200 hoop earrings missing or stolen.

Lake Shore police

ARRESTS: Report on July 26 of an arrest at Zorbaz on Gull. Subject was arrested for fifth degree assault.

Report on July 27 of an arrest at Zorbaz on Gull. Subject was arrested for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance with security staff.

BURGLARY: Report on July 25 of a burglary on County Road 78. Unknown items were taken from inside a residence and several tools were taken from a shed.

Pine River police

ARRESTS: Report on July 22 of a warrant arrest in Pine River. Subject was arrested on a Stearns County warrant.

Report on July 23 of an arrest in Pine River. Subject was arrested for burglary, damage to property, minor consumption and a probation violation. Caller reported the subject was destroying property at the Norway Avenue Apartments.
