Pillager St. Cloud State student awarded scholarships

Melissa Watson of Pillager named recipient of awards.

ST. CLOUD – St. Cloud State University student Melissa Watson of Pillager was awarded both the Ward's SCSU Stores Scholarship and the Mary Beth Wedum Scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year.

This scholarship is granted to new incoming freshman who ranked in the top 25% of high school graduating class, scored at least 23 on the ACT or had a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale OR is an incoming freshman who is age 25 or older. Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time when scholarship is disbursed.

Watson was eligible for the awards based on this criteria and demonstrated history of academic success.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with numerous job titles since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently as Digital Editor.
