In its regular meeting Monday, June 28, the Pequot Lakes School Board approved revisions to the school district’s budget for fiscal year 2021, as well as a preliminary budget for 2022.
“The state of Minnesota came to an agreement on an education budget and they approved a 2.5% increase in state aid over the 2021-22 school year,” business manager Heidi Hagen said. “With that information, I felt it prudent to include that in the original budget.”
In the revised 2021 budget, the district expects to operate with $49,250,906 in revenues and $34,330,128 in expenditures.
In the following school year, district officials expect to see $26,128,353 in revenue against $39,758,088.
Monday's meeting was the last for Superintendent Chris Lindholm, who accepted the superintendent position in the Cook County School District and whose final day in Pequot Lakes is Wednesday, June 30. Interim Superintendent Kurt Stumpf will take over the following day.
