The Pequot Lakes High School robotics team had its season banquet Wednesday, May 26, at Tasty Pizza North in Pequot Lakes.
Several participants lettered in the activity, and four awards were given, including:
- Most Dedicated: Chase Jackson.
- MVP: Mitchell Morrison.
- Rookie All-Star: Jacob Schroeder.
- FIRST Award: Logan Wallin with an honorable mention to David Maschoff, the team's two seniors.
This season, all regional events were done virtually as at-home challenges rather than in-person. The Patriotics were part of the Nobium group competing against 29 teams from across the United States, Taiwan, Israel and Canada.
The Patriotics finished sixth overall and first in the power port challenge. This high placement qualified the team to compete at the state tournament.
The Patriotics competed at the Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference Invitational (the only live, in-person, off-season event in the country) in April in Bemidji. Of the 24 teams competing, Pequot Lakes finished third and was an alliance captain.
The team finished 18th overall and had the highest score in the power port challenge.
