The fall registration for Pequot Lakes Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), Learning Is Fun preschool for 3 and 4 year olds and School Readiness for 4 and 5 year olds will take place during the open houses from 4-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9.

The complete listing of the ECFE, Learning Is Fun and School Readiness classes is found on the Pequot Lakes School District website at www.isd186.org . Select "Schools," click on "Early Childhood" and scroll down to the "Fall 2015 Classes and Activities."

ECFE classes are a time for parent and child to go to school together. The class has a parent and child time in the early childhood classroom followed by a separation time with parent class next door. The children enjoy snack and time to be in school with their early childhood teacher. Each classroom is staffed with two adults. Sibling care is available for children who are not the age of the ECFE class.

Learning Is Fun is a preschool and ECFE combination. The Learning Is Fun classes are held on Monday and Thursday. Monday is preschool for the 3- and 4-year-old child only. Thursday has a parent and child interactive time, followed by a separate parent education time while the children continue to be in their preschool class. Learning Is Fun is for children who are two years from going into kindergarten.

School Readiness is open to children who are one year away from attending kindergarten. Children are typically 4 or 5 years old. There are four School Readiness classes offered. Section #2 and Extended Day on Fridays are full. Look over the other three choices for your child.
