Our celebration of the library's 10th birthday was a wonderful success. Board members as well as many of our volunteers, past and present, attended and some of our most attentive patrons also.
Thank you all for coming. And thank you to the whole community for supporting us in so many ways. Without all of you we certainly would not exist.
"Fizz, Bang, Read"
The kids' summer reading program is progressing wonderfully. There are still a few programs to attend. Remember to turn in your reading lists to the library by Wednesday, Aug. 6.

The library is honoring the 90th anniversary of the Milford Mine disaster in Crosby on the Cuyuna Iron Range. Read newspapers with survivors' accounts and books about mining, both historical fiction and nonfiction.
Mountain bike and hiking trails in several woods and fishing areas of the mine pits are highlighted for a summer visit to the Crosby-Ironton area.
Help available for property taxes
On Thursday, Aug. 7, from 1-4 p.m., help with property taxes will be available to all who need it. No appointment is necessary.
Thank you, volunteers
Thank you, thank you, thank you! We have some very special and generous groups to thank this month.
Thank you to the Pelican Lakes Conservation Club, to the Breezy Point Area Women's Club, to Loon Lake Township and to the Early Childhood Coalition. These groups have all contributed money to be used for the children's summer reading program.
Terri Grimes and Diondra Putnam and their committee have organized and carried out their plans for the kids' reading program and we thank them especially, also.
