Learning Is Fun, a Pequot Lakes Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) plus preschool program, is now being offered two times a week.
This class works with the special learning needs of children ages 3 and 4. Children must be age 3 by Sept. 1, 2015, and toilet trained to attend.
The two-day a week class session incorporates parent education time into the regular class time. Section 1 will meet from 8:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Section 2 will meet from 12:30-3 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.
Parents will meet in the Parent Room from 8:45-9:30 a.m. or 12:45-1:30 p.m. for parent education. There is no parent education class on Mondays; just drop off your preschooler to go to class on their own. This new option was developed based on parent requests for a program that includes the parent education within the class.
Fall session classes will run the week of Sept. 14 through Dec. 10. The winter session will run Jan. 4-May 5, 2016. Jessie Mudgett, a Pequot Lakes School District licensed early childhood teacher, teaches the class.

The Learning Is Fun program has been designed based on use of the Scholastic Big Day for Pre-K curriculum. The program includes Minnesota Department of Education approved curriculum and assessments, and it has been approved for the Four Star Rating by Parent Aware. This is the highest rating given to a preschool program.
Fee for the two-day a week class is $291 for fall semester or $100 per month for a three-month period. Scholarships are available for families who qualify. No one will be turned away from the class due to an inability to pay.
