Pequot Lakes council approves school resource office contract with school

The Pequot Lakes City Council on Tuesday, July 1, approved the school resource officer contract with Pequot Lakes Schools for 2014-15. Police officer Chad Nangle will return as school resource officer.

The Pequot Lakes City Council on Tuesday, July 1, approved the school resource officer contract with Pequot Lakes Schools for 2014-15. Police officer Chad Nangle will return as school resource officer.

In other business, the council:

• Approved streetlight light and arm designs for North Washington Avenue as part of the street improvement project. The council had asked people to go to the city website to vote on designs. It received several votes. The council also agreed to obtain quotes for an electrical system for the streetlights.

• Appointed election judges for the primary election.

• Tentatively changed the November city council meeting date from Nov. 4 (general election day) to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12.

• Learned the fire department had seven calls in June, including a motor vehicle fire/assist police in Jenkins, good intent grass and power pole in Breezy Point, mutual aid structure fire in Ideal Township, good intent carbon monoxide call to Pequot Lakes, good intent fire alarm in Breezy Point, good intent gas smell in house in Jenkins Township and motor vehicle accident/assist police in Pequot Lakes.
