After interviewing three finalists for its police chief job - including Pequot Lakes Police Chief Eric Klang - the Cloquet City Council hired internal candidate and interim chief Derek Randall for the position, the Cloquet Pine Journal reported.
Randall was appointed interim chief last September and has been with the Cloquet department since 2001, having served as a patrol officer, detective and investigative commander in that time.
Finalist interviews were held Tuesday, June 2, and the council made its decision that night.
