Franz Vancura has joined the Paws and Claws Rescue & Resort board of directors.
He owns Vancura Law Firm in Walker.
After graduating from law school, Vancura had two immediate goals. The first was to move to the north woods. The second was to find a canine hunting companion, which he found in an English springer spaniel named Mick.
Tragically, Mick died young and Franz began raising money to donate to Paws and Claws in Mick's honor.
He has been a staunch supporter of the project and he now beats through the grouse coverts with Dos. The two live on Little Webb Lake.
