Norwegian folk music to be performed May 12 in Crosslake

Arna Rennan will present a musical performance featuring translated stories about Norwegian immigrants at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Crosslake Community Center.

Arna Rennan will present a musical performance featuring translated stories about Norwegian immigrants at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Crosslake Community Center.

Rennan will include music from a variety of genres, including the simple four-lined poems, broadsides, waltz tunes, vaudeville songs from "Snoose Boulevard" sung in "Swenglish" along with well-known favorites here in Minnesota.

This free Legacy Program is funded in part or in whole with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota's arts and cultural heritage.
