The Nisswa Area Historical Society will begin the season at the Pioneer Village in downtown Nisswa by opening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, May 23 and 30.
Starting in June and going through the end of August, the village will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. September dates are Saturdays only.

The Pioneer Village consists of century old log cabins, a school house, livery and History Center on one side of the street with a caboose, express building and Nisswa's original depot on the other. All are filled with artifacts from Nisswa's past.
Wednesdays, starting in June, school-aged children may take part in authentic lessons from the 1890s in the little red schoolhouse from 1-4 p.m. Included is a scavenger hunt with prizes. Color book pages are available for preschoolers.
