Pastor Jennifer (Jen) Matthees has been appointed pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church in Pequot Lakes.
There will be a service Celebrating the Appointment on Sunday, June 28, during the church's “virtual” worship. Visitors are welcome to attend via https://www.graceumcpequotlakes.org/video-worship/. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a reception will not be held at this time.
Matthees will begin her ministry with Grace United Methodist church in Pequot Lakes on June 28.
Matthees is originally from Winona, and has most recently been serving Immanuel UMC in Winona. She and her husband Mark have one adult daughter, Megan, who lives in Texas. Mathees studied at both WSU and San Diego Christian College while obtaining her degree in Christian Ministry Studies. She is a Licensed Local Pastor for the Minnesota Annual Conference. She has served in both administrative and pastoral roles within church settings. She is a skilled business leader who has created and led many successful teams, and views her secular career experiences as a benefit to the churches she serves. She points to numerous youth mission trips and working with families during end of life celebrations as having the most impact on her own faith.
