Here are highlights of what was published in the Echo Journal e-papers online every day in the past week. Each e-paper is seven to nine pages of world, national, state, business, entertainment and sports news:

  • Thursday, June 24: FDA to add warnings to COVID-19 vaccines. Warren Buffett resigns from Gates Foundation. Harrison Ford injured while making a movie.

  • Monday, June 28: Search continues as death toll in Florida condo collapse rises to nine. Barr had a profanity-laden split with Trump over election fraud claims. Minnesota Twin among seven players to watch as MLB nears trade deadline.

  • Tuesday, June 29: Pacific Northwest cities grind to a halt in record heat. Transgender student wins bathroom fight. Longnose gar fish to be protected in Minnesota.

  • Wednesday, June 30: Find this week’s Echo Journal pages, along with extra pages of state, national, world, sports, business and entertainment news.

Nancy Vogt is editor of the Pineandlakes Echo Journal, a weekly newspaper that covers eight communities in the Pequot Lakes-Pine River areas - from Nisswa to Hackensack and Pequot Lakes to Crosslake.

She started as editor of the Lake Country Echo in July 2006, and continued in that role when the Lake Country Echo and the Pine River Journal combined in September 2013 to become the Pineandlakes Echo Journal. She worked for the Brainerd Dispatch from 1992-2006 in various roles.

She covers Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Lake Shore and Crosslake city councils, as well as writes feature stories, news stories and personal columns (Vogt's Notes). She also takes photos at community events.
