JENKINS-A 59-year-old Pine River man was injured when the motorcycle he was driving struck a deer at 6:11 p.m. Thursday on Crow Wing County Highway 15 and White Pine Knoll in Jenkins.
The Breezy Point Police Department reported Kent Stuckmayer was traveling eastbound on County Highway 15 when a deer ran out of the ditch and into the roadway and the two collided. Police reported the motorcycle slid 50 yards and crashed into the ditch. Stuckmayer had injuries on the left side of his body and was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to an area hospital to be treated.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office and the Pequot Lakes Fire Department were called to assist at the scene. The fire department was canceled en route.
