The 27th annual Mission Fire Fair will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Mission Park.
The event, sponsored by the Mission Township Firefighters Relief Association, will feature a roast pork lunch, hot dogs, brats, popcorn and beverages; silent auction and door and raffle prizes; chicken poopin' contest; North Air Care helicopter; fire department demonstration; Safe House; pony rides; and kids' activities and facepainting.
Monetary donations will be accepted. Make checks payable to the Mission Fire & Rescue Relief Association. Donations can be sent to PO Box 327, Merrifield, MN 56465.
All donations will be used to buy new equipment for the fire department, including a Lucas Machine, self-contained breathing apparatus replacement packs, rehab materials and upgraded tools for new trucks.
Mission Park is seven miles north of Merrifield on County Roads 1 and 3, and one mile east on Mission Park Drive.
