Meet the new teachers at PR-B Schools: Rachel Warg

  • Hometown: I grew up in Cannon Falls MN. My husband and I moved to Longville this summer from Hastings, MN
  • Past teaching experience/education: I taught at Red Wing High School the past 12 years. I have a BA in Humanities with a minor in Art History and Italian Language from the University of Minnesota (Duluth and Twin Cities) a M.ED degree in secondary education: assessment curriculum and instruction, and additional English and education credits from Metro State University and Carleton College.
  • What grades do you teach? I will have 9th grade English, 11th grade CIS Comp, and 12th grade CIS World Literature
  • Interests/Hobbies: I like to travel, cook, read, fish, watch baseball & football, music, theater, and spend time outside with family and friends.
  • What are you most looking forward to at Pine River-Backus?: As a new resident in the area I am looking forward to meeting the young people here and learning about their communities! (Oh, and I’m excited about the smaller class sizes, too!)
  • Travis Grimler began work at the Echo Journal Jan. 2 of 2013 while the publication was still split in two as the Pine River Journal and Lake Country Echo. He is a full time reporter/photographer/videographer for the paper and operates primarily out of the northern stretch of the coverage area (Hackensack to Jenkins).
