DULUTH, Minn. -- A strong odor emanating from a home in led to the disruption of a $100,000 marijuana operation in northeast Minnesota on Thursday.
Charges are pending against a father and son, ages 57 and 26, who were arrested after a search-and-seizure by police and other agencies at 1564 Torgeson Road northeast of Duluth at 5:25 p.m., the Duluth Township Police said in a news release.
Police were investigating a strong odor of marijuana reported coming from the home, which was rented by the father and son.
Officers found several people at the residence “as well as one individual who had just purchased marijuana,” Duluth Township Police Chief Shawn Padden said in the news release.
Officers located a marijuana operation inside the trailer home, including numerous packages of marijuana ready for sale and 77 potted plants, ranging from 16 inches to nearly 5-feet tall. Harvested amounts of the drug totaled 6 pounds. Padden said the estimated value was $100,000.
Officers also seized several hundred dollars in cash, several thousand dollars’ worth of equipment, including lights, climate control devices and video monitoring equipment.
