Man, 47, dies in crash in Aitkin County

MORA, Minn. -- A 47-year-old man died Saturday after the car he was driving was struck by another driver who failed to stop at an intersection.
The crash was reported at 9:35 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 65 in Aitkin County.
Anthony Sundholm, 47, McGrath, was killed in the crash. Sundholm was driving a Ford Fiesta and traveling north on Highway 65. Peter Sarkisyan, 29, Forest Lake, was driving west on Highway 18 when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck Sundholm's vehicle broadside, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. Sarkisyan was driving a Volkswagen Jetta and had one passenger. Both were injured.
Sarkisyan was seriously injured and taken to Firstlight Health in Mora. It's unknown if he was wearing a seat belt. The state patrol reports alcohol was detected in Sarkisyan's system. His passenger, Seth Millner, 27, Roseville, suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Sundholm was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed.
