Low-carb health seminar planned in Pequot Lakes

Guest speaker Dr. Mark Berger will be at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church for the Lakes Area Low-Carb Seminar from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5.

Berger and several other local medical professionals will discuss why society seems to be so sick and depressed and how nutrition holds the key to health. The program will consist of a main presentation, two breakout sessions, a healthy low-carb meal and a question-and-answer session with doctors. Following is the schedule of events:

10-10:15 a.m.: Pastor Zach Broom's opening, "There is More to Life than Health."

10:15-11 a.m.: Dr. Steve Park, "Why We Get Fat."

11-11:10 a.m.: Break.

11:10-11:50 a.m.: Berger, "Eating Low-Carb in a High-Carb World."

11:50 a.m.-noon: Break.

Noon-12:40 p.m.; Berger, "Low-Carb Imaging: A Look Inside the Body."

12:40-1 p.m.: Lunch.

1-1:30 p.m.: Lunch and question-and-answer session with medical professionals.
