CROSSLAKE — The Crosslake Area Historical Society will sponsor an art class for kids at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, in the original 1897 Ideal Schoolhouse at the Historic Log Village.

Linda Randall, of Kicks, the Art Place, will teach a make-and-take-art paint class for kids age 5-12.

Cost is $6 per child. All art supplies will be included.

Students will be seated in the vintage desks in the schoolhouse as they did 100 years ago.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Pineandlakes Echo Journal." Often, the "Pineandlakes Echo Journal" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
