PEQUOT LAKES — The Friends of the Pequot Lakes Library will host a community reception for the new library coordinator, Linda Olson, from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Library.

People are encouraged to stop by to say hello.

Olson comes to the area from Superior, Wisconsin, where she worked as a librarian for 30 years. All of the library staff welcome her and look forward to working with her. She’s new to the area and is eager to meet residents new and old.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Pineandlakes Echo Journal." Often, the "Pineandlakes Echo Journal" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
