Tornadoes are possible Thursday, May 12, near Brainerd, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.
Coming off a rainy Wednesday, the weather service again forecast numerous severe thunderstorms Thursday, May 12, across Minnesota, including in Crow Wing and Cass counties where an enhanced risk exists.

Periods of severe storms (large hail, damaging wind and heavy rain) are expected Thursday into the night.
Depending on location, people may see two rounds of storms, with severe storms possible through Thursday afternoon and becoming likely Thursday night.
Coverage and intensity of storms are expected to be strongest Thursday night.

There's a heavy rainfall threat into tonight and a flood watch is in effect.

The forecast calls for multiple rounds of storms that will move fast with a lower chance of extended periods of rain. Rivers and stresams are already running high, especially across northern Minnesota after Wednedsay's rain.
