PEQUOT LAKES — Pequot Lakes High School senior Sonja Palmer was selected as a Triple A award winner.
Established in 1988, The Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. The award goes to high school seniors who have a “B” or better grade point average and who participate in league-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.
Palmer is the daughter of Chris and Ike Palmer. She is involved in band, speech, volleyball, track, Spanish Club, Student Council and Interact Club, and is a part of the National Honor Society.
Academically, Palmer has taken AP classes, College in the School courses and a PSEO course.
Her teacher, Ben Starns, said: “Sonja is a hard working young lady who is highly motivated, talented and very generous with her time in our school.”

Palmer plans to attend the University of Minnesota for mass communications.
