"We know there is a stronger need for their help today more than ever. This is why we are holding a fundraiser on Friday, April 8, On that day we will be giving 20% of our sales as a donation to the Lakes Area Food Shelf. We will also be asking for additional donations if customers are wanting to give more to this cause.”

Lakes Area Food Shelf is in the midst of its annual March FoodShare Campaign, sponsored by the MN Council of Churches. The goal is to raise as much financial support and food donations as possible. Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Pineandlakes Echo Journal." Often, the "Pineandlakes Echo Journal" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
