NISSWA — The Nisswa Lions chose two students to receive the Ginger Hustvedt Memorial Scholarship: Ara Anderson and Braden Capelle, both seniors at Brainerd High School.

Hustvedt was a longtime member of the Nisswa Lions Club and a retired educator. She lost her battle to cancer in September 2020. Her family left a one-time memorial scholarship of $700 to be given to students entering the education field.

Anderson will go into elementary education, and Capelle will go into music education.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Pineandlakes Echo Journal." Often, the "Pineandlakes Echo Journal" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
