NISSWA — The annual Nisswa Chocolate Walk is Saturday, May 14.

The event will begin at Wildflower Chocolate on Hazelwood Drive where check-in and welcome will take place on the backyard patio. Participants will then be directed to Main Street where they can follow a route map to participating vendors throughout the city.

Those who wish to cycle the walk may park at the Paul Bunyan Trailhead and then ride to Wildflower Chocolate via the underground tunnel. Children may participate in the walk without an additional ticket.

The Chocolate Walk benefits both Nisswa Elementary School's outdoor education and schoolyard gardening efforts and the Cuyuna Chapter Little Bellas, a mountain bike mentorship program for girls and young women.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Pineandlakes Echo Journal." Often, the "Pineandlakes Echo Journal" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
