Lakes Area Musical Festival to present free classical concerts July 23-24

The concerts will be in Crosslake, Deerwood and Nisswa

The Lakes Area Music Festival’s Prelude Series wraps up July 23-24 with shows in Crosslake, Deerwood and Nisswa.

The shows are free and do not require tickets.

Emerging classical singers from LAMF’s vocal fellowship will present a potpourri of opera arias and beloved songs. The artists, chosen from the nation’s top conservatories and training programs, will sing at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Crosslake Lutheran Church, 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Salem Lutheran Church of Deerwood, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Nisswa’s Lutheran Church of the Cross.

The prelude events are a warmup to LAMF’s 14th annual festival season. From July 29 to Aug. 22, the festival will feature over 180 of the world’s top classical musicians in more than 25 events, including an original opera production, symphony orchestras, learning opportunities and casual classics.
