JENKINS — Jenkins VFW club members braved the cold Friday, Nov. 11, to perform a flag retirement ceremony during their Veterans Day ceremony.

With a small turnout, the event consisted of a formal process for properly retiring dozens of flags into a lit half-barrel style brazier after saluting the flag one last time. Taps was played to conclude the event.
