Heartland Poets hosting meeting April 2

Attendees should bring poems to share.

BRAINERD — Heartland Poets, an area chapter of the League of Minnesota Poets, will host their monthly meeting 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 in the large room of the Brainerd Public Library.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, poets will read cherished poems at the podium. Attendants should bring a special poem or two to present and share what makes them meaningful. Poets will discuss upcoming opportunities and events for poets, as well as publication opportunities and successes.

Afterwards, poets will share copies of poems-in-progress for review and consideration by those present. This meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Pineandlakes Echo Journal." Often, the "Pineandlakes Echo Journal" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
