In its Monday, Sept. 27, meeting, the Lake Shore City Council voted unanimously to approve its 2022 preliminary levy and budget.
The city would operate with a budget of $1,716,877, a 2.5% increase from the previous year.
The council set its Truth in Taxation meeting for 7 p.m., incorporating it into its regular December meeting, which was moved up one week from Monday, Dec. 27. At that meeting, the council will approve its final level, which cannot exceed the preliminary amount but can be decreased if necessary.
In other action, the council:
Approved the results of the police department’s body camera audit, which confirmed the department’s compliance with Minnesota Statutes.
Approved the final plat of the Agate Woods addition.
Approved a liquor license for Agate Lake Resort.
Approved a pay estimate for improvements to Robinhood Way, and scheduled a hearing on the subject for Monday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m.
Appointed Justin Stahnke as an alternate on the Road/Wastewater Committee.
Approved a three-year proposal from Clasen & Schiessl CPAs for audit services.
In August, the Lake Shore Police Department responded to 152 incidents, including three crashes, one DWI arrest, six theft complaints and one drug-related incident.
