VFW Northern Post 3839 of Jenkins recently honored two local attorneys for their pro bono parcel title work.
The Jenkins Post purchased a Crow Wing County tax-forfeited parcel in Jenkins, which required title legal work. Retired attorney John Erickson, formerly of Erickson Law Offices PLLC, did extensive title work on the parcel. Following Erickson's retirement, Bradley Person, of Breen & Person Attorneys at Law, LTD, saw the acquisition through to the end.
As a thanks, the VFW honored both attorneys with plaques. The donation of professional services saved the VFW significant costs at a time of limited finances.
Future plans for the parcel, to be open for use by VFW members and the general public, potentially include a sheltered picnic site, the installation of surplus military equipment and improved access to the post from Highway 371.
