The Fifty Lakes Foundation meeting Friday, Sept. 19, will feature a presentation by Barry Babcock, founder of the Jack Pine Coalition.
Officer and director meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by a free spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m.
Babcock lives in the woods and has been active for 20 years in environmental politics, having founded the Jack Pine Coalition in 2001, which is almost solely responsible for legislation regulating off-road vehicles on public lands.
He is a hunter, a conservationist and an enthusiastic canoeist. He will speak on the impact of ATVs and issues regarding wolf hunting.
The meeting will be at the clubhouse of the Fifty Lakes Foundation at 40554 South Eagle Lake Road (northeast corner of the Crow Wing County Roads 1 and 3 intersection in Fifty Lakes). Guests are welcome.
