ROBERTS, Wis. -- An incident at the Roberts Industrial Park brought the Marathon County Bomb Squad to a FritoLay distribution center Tuesday.
Authorities responded to the complaint at 1:56 a.m. Tuesday. Two men were being detained in connection with the incident, said Roberts Police Sgt. Aaron McWilliams.
He said it wasn’t immediately clear whether the device was explosive.
A statement released by police said an officer made contact with a suspicious vehicle parked behind the business and two subjects were detained. An item was located in the vehicle which appeared to be a homemade incendiary device.
A bomb squad member was heard yelling, “Fire in the hole!” just before 9 a.m. The sound of a small explosion was heard immediately after. The scene appeared to be under control by about 9:30 a.m.
