Pine River will celebrate Heritage Days on Friday-Sunday, Sept. 9-11. Following is a list of events:
Friday-Saturday
10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Pine River United Methodist Church will host its annual quilt show, titled "Quilts and Collections," at the church. Lunch will be available and will include the church's famous potato soup, sandwiches, pie and beverages.
Friday-Sunday
All day: Free historic, pre-1830s encampment, Forbes Park. Step back in time and enter the 1830s encampment to relive the early fur trade rendezvous. See tools of the trade and handmade crafts from the era, including flintnapping, rope making, finger weaving, handmade leather items, blacksmithing, primitive fire starting, cooking over open fires and history/storytelling. Try tomahawk or knife throwing or a primitive bow and arrow shoot. Get a close look at different types of muzzleloaders dating back to colonial times. There will be free camping for all buck skinners with period camps.

Saturday
Noon: Free hobo stew served until gone, Forbes Park shelter house.
All day: Historic displays at the Pine River Depot and throughout Pine River.
