Tom Hanson, a former foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State, will discuss China and foreign policy in the Trump era during an Unlimited Learning event from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Heartland Senior Living in Crosby.

Hanson will talk global economics, technology and governance and how current policies affect prospects for democracy worldwide.

Hanson currently serves as a diplomat in residence at the Alworth Institute at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and has opened many embassies, served as director of NATO and European Affairs and the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C.

The cost to attend the event, if not a member of Unlimited Learning, is $5.
