Jay Gardner, Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Operations Center project manager with the Air Force Association, accepted an award at a gala banquet Thursday, March 2, in Orlando, Fla., honoring his operations center.
Gardner is the son of Bill and Phyllis Gardner, Pine River.
The Martin H. Harris Chapter of the Air Force Association recognized the Leidos RPA Operations Center for Outstanding Current/Future Armed UAV Technology. As part of the ceremony honoring armed UAVs, the RPA Operations Center was designated a Jimmy Doolittle Educational Fellow in the Air Force Association.
The Jimmy Doolittle Educational Fellow honors the late Gen. Jimmy Doolittle, who actively promoted public understanding and support for aerospace power. Being named a Doolittle Fellow honors the many men and women who have supported the Air Force and the Air Force Association from their inception.
